How did you start Crossfitting?
I had actually been wanting to join CrossFit for a while but kept pushing it off and signed up for a half marathon instead. The week following the race I immediately looked into a few gyms and found CFHR!
What do you enjoy most about Crossfit?
The variety of the workouts. All of the different movements and intensities have kept things interesting. The community is also awesome! I’ve played sports my entire life and since joining it’s felt like being a part of a team.
What’s your proudest Crossfit moment?
When I deadlifted 225lbs (today 😆). Before joining CrossFit I rarely did barbell deadlifts because of previous injury and probably wouldn’t have even tried that weight if it weren’t for the encouragement of the coaches and fellow athletes.
What are some goals you are working towards? Crossfit and/or professionally
Improving at the movements I’m still learning, getting stronger on barbell lifts, consistent double-unders, and some unassisted pull-ups.
What’s your favorite lift, movement or workout?
Any sort of squat variation, wall walks, and rope climbs.
When you’re not Crossfitting, what do you like to do?
Play soccer and kickball or really any sport, reading, or doing anything outdoors with friends and my pup Remington.
What impact has Crossfit had on you outside the gym?
I’ve gotten into a better daily routine, have more energy throughout the day, and feel stronger overall!
What’s one piece of advice you would offer to a new Crossfitter?
Well I think I’m still pretty new 😅 but my advice would be to celebrate the small wins.
